Animal Licensing

Dog and Cat license renewals are due in January (Jan 1st -Jan 31st).  Late fees will apply as of February 1st, at $5 per month/per animal. 

Important : Animal license renewals or new pet licenses dropped off in person at Borough Hall will no longer be processed at the time of drop off. The licenses will be processed at a later time and then mailed back to you. 

Fees:   

Dog:    

$15 Spayed Neutered   $20 Non-Spayed or Neutered   

 Cat:    

$10 Spayed or Neutered       $15 Non-Spayed or Neutered

Things needed to renew your Animal Licenses:

1.    All rabies shots need to be valid thru November of current year. 

2.    Rabies certificate must be provided with paperwork to verify and update our records (will be returned) 

3.    Make your check payable to the Borough of Washington.

4.    Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope for return of new license. 

5.    If you are sending your information after January 31, please add late fees.

6.    The Borough of Washington Animal Control Office will not accept any Rabies Certificates faxed or emailed. Must accompany certificate with paperwork at the time of registration.

7.    Please help us keep our records up to date by informing us of any changes such as you moved or death of your pet.

Pet Waste and Water Pollution

The Warren County Health Department provides vaccine for a series of state/municipal sponsored rabies vaccination clinics for pets each year. These clinics are free to all New Jersey residents allowing only healthy cats and dogs to be vaccinated.
