1. The Borough does not require a Certificate of Occupancy upon the resale of properties (required for new construction only.) We do require an inspection by the Fire Official for residential properties prior to transfer of ownership, as well as inspections of commercial properties for compliance with local and State laws.  Inspections are by Appointment only.  Call 908-689-3600 ext. 123
2. All residential rental properties must be inspected prior to a new tenant moving in. At the time of inspection, a Safety and Property Maintenance Inspection, and testing of Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms will be conducted by appointment only. Call 908-689-3600 ext. 139
